Dravyaguna is an integral part of Ayurveda which deals comprehensively about rasa, guna, virya, vipaka and prabhava(pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics) of medicinal plants. It also deals with identification, collection, storage and preservation of raw materials of plant origin. The department has big collection of dry specimens of various species, Charts, Models and photograhs. A herbal garden is attached with department having more than 250 species and more than 4000 medicinal plants. Periodic study tours are conducted for the students to the state of Uttrakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Presently 1 Assistant professor with 1 non- teaching staff were working in this department.
